Temporary closure of Douglas Avenue in Franklin County
Douglas Avenue will be closed at U.S. 60 beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 28. The street will be closed for approximately one week. Motorists should follow the signed detour through the KSU campus.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 25, 2016) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announces the temporary closure of Douglas Avenue in Franklin County. The street will be closed at the intersection with U.S. 60 near the Kentucky State University (KSU) campus.

The closure of Douglas Avenue will allow for sewer line replacement. This work is part of a project to construct a pedestrian walkway over US 60 (East Main Street) at the KSU campus.

Douglas Avenue will be closed at U.S. 60 beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, March 28. The street will be closed for approximately one week. Motorists should follow the signed detour through the KSU campus.

Contract crews are currently working on utility relocations in the project area. Construction of the walkway will begin later this spring. Hall Construction of Kentucky, Inc. was awarded this contract with construction scheduled for completion in January 2017.
