Severe Weather March 31st, 2016

Several rounds of thunderstorms impacted southern Indiana and Kentucky on Thursday afternoon and evening. Several “bowing segments” occured in the storms as they pushed northeast through the region, which led to areas of enhanced wind damage. The worst damage was across portions of Hancock and Breckenridge counties, where a roof was blown off a Breckenridge middle school and mobile homes were damaged.

Franklin County Damage
Winds are thought to be the cause of an Kentucky Utilities power outage that occurred on the afternoon of 3/31/16. Two incidents were reported following the Severe Thunderstorm Warning that evening of tree limbs in roadways.
